Leaves usually linear, without a silvery tomentum, up to 5 cm long, 1–2 mm wide. Involucre 6–7 mm diam.; bracts yellow, usually radiating. Florets as long as the involucre. Cypselas glabrous or papillose. Pappus bristles c. 4 mm long. Aromatic perennial up to 60 cm high. Widespread. Grasslands and forests on better soils. Fl. spring–summer Chrysocephalum semipapposum
